Sunny (and rainy) Sunshine Coast

I love experiencing different environments as well as celebrating the novelty of ordinary things, and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland gave me plenty to be happy about when I visited for a week. The abundant ibis and brush turkeys may be pests to the locals, but I had a great time being a tourist, taking embarrassingly large numbers of photos of these strange birds that we never see in Victoria. It reminds me of the squirrels I may have been a little bit *too* excited about as a teenager visiting Europe for the first time.

Also, tropical plants! So many of them! And cane toads! Although they were less exciting after the first 100 or so …

It also rained on us a lot, but that was just part of the fun.
